A Reflection of Our Journey So Far.
As we reach the end of the fiscal year, we believe it is important to celebrate and appreciate our achievements and biggest moments at House of Forme. 2021 marked the year we moved into our new studio in Sai Wan, Hong Kong, converting our old office into a production studio. The new Sai Wan headquarters provided a fully accessible and collaborative workspace that accommodated the growth of our team from 4 to 10 amazing talents (And growing!), with the completion of over 35 projects in total, a 270% growth in turnover and 900% in net profit. We saw our team and business grow immensely despite the tough climate, and we hope to announce the opening of HOF offices in other cities soon, a global vision only achievable thanks to our team, clients, partners, and supporters who have helped us continue our craft.
Building More Diverse Relationships.
Our projects are never limited to big or small clients, and differ greatly in size and industries, offering up a plethora of opportunities to work on. 2021 started off with an incredible opportunity to work alongside luxury property giant Hongkong Land, a company with over 100 years of history. House of Forme refined and developed brand collaterals, oversaw content and production, and designed digital platforms for both the company’s central and sub-brands. Similarly corporate in nature was our nostalgic rebranding of private investment firm Celadon Partners, inspired by rare chinese antiques and the design language of its origins. Other ambitious projects ranged from the branding of ESTRO, JIA Group’s Italian fine dining restaurant led by award-winning chef Antimo Maria Merone, to the repositioning of third-gen battery company Vinnic, manufacturer of household names like Energizer and GP.
We are extraordinarily lucky to have grown alongside clients like the precious metals craftsmen of Sunsmith, a client journey that continued from its inception to the upcoming launch of its first flagship store in 2022. Under the expansion of Hong Kong’s GO24 Fitness, we have not only worked to provide 360 fitness experiences for exclusive members of the gym group, but also developed the branding of FUEL24, a new supplement brand under GO24 offering direct, high quality nutrients to their growing member base. Our narrative-based, holistic approach has allowed us the chance to create brand identities, collaterals, and websites for non-profit groups, including TASS, a group that promotes sustainability across schools in Hong Kong, and Crafts on Peel, an organization dedicated to reviving traditional craftsmanship. From the playful graphic systems of start-ups like CLEAN, Hong Kong’s first sustainable coffee and laundry concept with a fun twist on laundry label systems, to enhancing digital experiences for Classified Group, and to a massive government tender for an 86-acre water sports and recreational center, the chance to help clients tell their stories has led to many great adventures and experiences that we are truly proud of.
Similarly ambitious projects included the brand naming, identity, website, and collateral of the new hospitality group Common Abode. They have since added more F&B concepts to their portfolio, including: Hjem, a Nordic-inspired cafe, and Candour, a hip-hop inspired bar and lounge, of which House of Forme took on various roles that included full-service branding, digital, and interior design. This past year also marked our expansion into other areas of interior design, taking on our first full retail pop-up in Harbour City Hong Kong for diamond jewellery company Lovemark to larger residential projects such as the renovation and design of a 30,000 sq ft. private residence in Clearwater Bay.
Creating A More Seamless Experience.
The chance to delve into interior design was a big moment we had been waiting for - an ideal opportunity to marry our branding background with an equally paramount factor in creating a seamless brand experience and narrative. Our collaborations comprise the full-service branding and interior of Frozen Factory, a family-owned frozen goods shop that features custom murals and facades evocative of 1970’s Hong Kong and the surrounding neighborhood’s heritage. The collaboration with hjem also allowed the interweaving of a minimalist graphic system, enriched with the modern Scandinavian interiors and mid-century furnishings of the founder’s hometown. Our cafe design for CLEAN is also an extension of its playful brand identity - with mint green laundry machines, a lively mix of pastel colours, terrazzo floors, and checkered tiles at the bar, enabling a cohesive narrative both online and offline for end-users. Aside from commercial, House of Forme also designed residential interiors fit for purpose, from a luxury penthouse in So Kwun Wat, Hong Kong, inspired by a lifestyle of slow living, to a calm refuge with a seaview.
A Look into 2022.
Alongside an ever-growing international footprint with new projects scheduled in Beijing, Paris, and India, look out for upcoming concepts including: the launch of Embla, a Nordic fine-dining concept led by Jim Lofdahl, the new branding and environments of a 500 room co-living space launched on the south side of Hong Kong, a new beginning for the mysterious group behind Hong Kong’s most beloved concepts like Charcoal HK, and the launch of Noir Organic, an alchemy-inspired modern day pharmacy to name a few... There is no shortage of excitement and new projects coming soon.
Thank you for supporting us through 2021.
